MYTHOLOGY delivers the intense horror-show instrumentals that made Earthworm’s debut album stand out as a unique project, but this time around the band also breaks out into a broader spectrum of musical influences. The 9 tracks on this album cross borders of eerie ambient electronic music, ultra heavy industrial metal, drum and bass, and bleak post-punk rock.
These diverse influences are held together by the heavy, tribal, big-beat live drums and layers of sound that build upon each other creating a sense of dramatic darkness. The album has a hypnotic “soundtrack to a movie in your head” quality, even on the tracks that include vocals and more traditional song structures. Earthworm is a collaboration between musician & producer Matt Collins and drummer Mike Varian, that was written and recorded between 2006-2007. MYTHOLOGY is the second album from Earthworm. |
